LDS Compass - 11 May 2026
Faith & Discipleship Edition
Welcome and Opening Reflection
There are seasons in life where people become quietly tired.
Not always physically.
Not always emotionally.
But spiritually tired.
The kind of tiredness that comes from carrying concerns for too long.
Financial pressure.
Uncertainty about the future.
Worry for children or family.
Loneliness that sits quietly beneath the surface.
Prayers that seem to remain unanswered.
And yet, for many disciples of Christ, life continues outwardly as normal.
We go to work.
Attend church.
Attend Temple.
Serve where we can.
Smile when needed.
But inside, some hearts are carrying very heavy things.
If that is where you are right now, this edition is for you.
Because one of the great truths of the gospel is this:
The Saviour does not ask us to walk through difficult seasons alone.
He walks with us.
Sometimes quietly.
Sometimes gradually.
But always faithfully.
Wherever you are on your journey right now, you are very welcome here.
God bless you.

When Strength Feels Small
There is a phrase in the scriptures that often feels especially meaningful during difficult seasons:
“My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.”
Not after weakness.
Not once life becomes easier.
In weakness.
That changes how we see discipleship.
Sometimes we imagine strong faith means never struggling.
Never doubting.
Never feeling weary.
But the scriptures teach something very different.
Again and again, the Lord works through ordinary people facing very real difficulties.
People who felt overwhelmed.
People who felt inadequate.
People who wondered if they could keep going.
And yet the Lord strengthened them step by step.
Not always by removing the burden immediately.
But often by helping them carry it.
That may be exactly what some people need to remember right now.
You do not have to solve everything this week.
You do not need all the answers immediately.
You simply need to keep moving forward with Christ beside you.
Sometimes discipleship is not dramatic.
Sometimes it is simply:
Praying when you feel empty.
Attending church when motivation is low.
Being kind when life feels unfair.
Holding onto faith one day at a time.
And heaven notices all of it.
A Quiet Kind of Faith
One of the challenges of modern life is that the world often celebrates noise, certainty, and visible success.
But much of real discipleship happens quietly.
A private prayer.
A decision not to give up.
A temple recommend quietly renewed.
A scripture read late at night.
A small act of forgiveness.
A calm decision to trust God despite uncertainty.
These moments may appear small.
But spiritually, they are not small at all.
The Lord has always worked through quiet faithfulness.
And perhaps that matters even more in a world that feels increasingly anxious and unsettled.
Keith’s Corner
Over the last few weeks, I’ve spoken with many people who are simply trying to keep going.
Some are carrying financial pressure.
Some are carrying worry for family members.
Some are quietly exhausted emotionally or spiritually.
And many are trying to hold onto faith while the world feels increasingly unsettled.
I think that is why this week’s edition matters.
Not because it contains dramatic answers.
But because sometimes what we need most is reminding.
Reminding that the Lord has not forgotten us.
Reminding that quiet faith still matters.
Reminding that small acts of discipleship are still seen by heaven.
One thing I have learned over the years is this:
Spiritual strength rarely arrives all at once.
More often, it comes quietly.
Day by day.
Prayer by prayer.
Step by step.
And sometimes simply continuing forward is itself an act of faith.
If you are feeling weary right now, I hope this edition helps you breathe a little more deeply and feel a little more hopeful about the road ahead.
You are not walking it alone.
Keith
Searching Questions
What is the Lord quietly helping me carry right now?
Where have I already seen strength arrive in difficult moments?
What spiritual habit would help me feel closer to Christ again?
Am I expecting perfection from myself when the Lord is asking for faithfulness instead?
This Week’s Invitation
This week, choose one small spiritual habit to strengthen.
Not ten things.
Not a complete reset.
Just one.
Perhaps:
A more meaningful prayer each morning
Ten quiet minutes with the scriptures
Sending a message to someone who may be struggling
Writing down one blessing each evening
Taking a slow walk and speaking honestly with Heavenly Father
Preparing spiritually for your next temple visit
Small consistent acts often become turning points over time.
A Small Invitation to Share
If LDS Compass has been helpful to you, you might consider sharing it with someone else this week - a friend, family member, or someone quietly finding their way back to faith.
Sometimes a simple invitation or a forwarded message can be the nudge someone needs to feel remembered and not alone.
Thank you for helping this small compass quietly find its way into other hands.
Closing Thought
You may not feel spiritually strong every day.
Most disciples do not.
But strength in the gospel is not measured by never struggling.
It is measured by continuing to turn towards Christ even while struggling.
That quiet decision matters more than you realise.
And perhaps that is one of the great messages of the restored gospel:
We are not asked to walk perfectly.
We are invited to keep walking with Him.
